MY APPROACH

“The camera should be used for a recording of life, for rendering the very substance and quintessence of the thing itself, whether it be polished steel or palpitating flesh.”

Edward Weston

COLLABORATOR AND VISUAL STORY TELLER

I have a candid and laid-back style when it comes to photography, but can also be assertive when necessary to get a key shot.   I love to make people laugh and I’m not afraid to act silly to get them to loosen up in front of the camera. I truly enjoy creative collaboration and am open to input from my clients whether it be the vision of their wedding, where they want to capture their family session or the photo that is going to make their advertising goal complete.  I am somewhat of a perfectionist and believe that when you’re capturing a moment in time, you only have one chance to get it right!

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, I studied Photojournalism at Ohio University.  Based in Denver, CO since 2005, my work has taken me all over the country and even abroad.

WHAT TO EXPECT

FUN! I love what I do and bring that joy and energy to every shoot I do.

Weddings involve extensive planning and I’m here to make that process easier for you.  Having photographed over 200 weddings, I am in tune to the flow of the big day.  I love to get to know my couples over coffee or a drink and work with them to create a timeline and shot list to ensure nothing is missed.  Day of, I am prompt and organized.  I’ve been known to pin boutonnieres, move chairs, grab drinks and herd cats, er… wrangle the stray family member for photos!  Turnaround time is three months after your wedding with a sneak peek of your images within three weeks.

For portrait sessions I am happy to help with location planning and outfit picking.  Once we’ve selected the location, expect a laid back shoot with some direction rather than stiff posing.  Turnaround time is two months after your shoot.

Commercial shoots require logistical planning ahead of time and I work with all my clients to ensure that the images they will be receiving effectively communicate their message.
